The Town of
Pilot Mountain, North Carolina
The clerk’s position was one of the first official offices created by local governments according to ancient records. The clerk is the historian for all official board actions, which ultimately influenced the lives of the town’s residents. It is important to remember that dedicated clerks” who realize that history is only one stepping stone away from the future” will safely guard the town’s records.
The most important responsibility of my office is to insure the safe keeping of all official documents for the town. The other duties related to my job are providing assistance to the town board, department heads and citizens, preparing board minutes, cemetery deeds, notarizing official documents, updating the ordinance book, maintaining the resolution book, payroll, accounts payable, supervise utility billing and collections, miscellaneous billing, privilege license billing, risk management and assisting with the annual budget. I also perform the duties of human resource officer for the town. I report directly to the town manager and perform other duties as assigned by him.
My career has been dedicated to serving each citizen of Pilot Mountain with honesty and respect. It is my goal to perform my duties as a municipal clerk in a manner that will bring honor to the clerk’s office.
